Why choose Osteo-P for Progressive Resistance Training?
What is Progressive Resistance Training ?
Osteo-P Progressive Resistance training is an effective approach to counteract the loss of muscle strength and mass.As we age we naturally experience a decline in muscle mass, strength and function, a condition known as sarcopenia. Starting around the age of 30 we can lose between 3-8% of muscle mass per decade, with the rate of decline accelerating after the age of 60 or with inactivity. This makes it crucial to focus on building and maintaining muscle strength throughout your life.
Resistance training plays a key role in both recovery from injury and in sustaining overall health. Osteo-Pās Progressive Resistance Training incorporates exercises using body weight, resistance bands and free weights.
Strength training has also been shown to enhance balance and proprioception which are essential for preventing falls. For individuals at higher risk of falls especially those with osteopenia and osteoporosis strength training is a critical component of their exercise programmes.
