Why choose Osteo-P for Progressive Resistance Training?

What is Progressive Resistance Training ?

Osteo-P Progressive Resistance training is a powerful intervention to combat muscle strength and muscle mass loss. As we become older, we gradually lose muscle mass, strength and function this is called Sarcopenia. After the age of 30 we can begin to lose between 3-8 % of muscle mass per decade and the rate of decline can become higher after the age of 60. This is why it is important to improve and maintain muscle strength.

Resistance training is important for a return to a specific sport and for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Osteo-P Progressive Resistance training includes exercises using body weight, resistance bands and free weights. As a client improves strength the resistance is gradually increased.

Strengthening exercises have been shown to improve balance and proprioception. Strength training is a vital component in the management of clients who are at higher risk of falling especially clients with Osteopenia and Osteoporosis due to the higher risk of fracture associated with falls
